In what seems to be becoming a bizarre – not to mention dangerous – trend another man has managed to enter an animal enclosure at a zoo.
According to The Indian Express, 35-year-old Mukesh was drunk when he jumped into a lion enclosure at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad in an attempt to ‘seduce’ the big cat.
He allegedly stated that he wanted ‘to shake hands with a lion’ and was heard screaming: “Please come to me, my darling, please.”
Luckily for everyone involved he was rescued, unhurt, by keeper R Papaiah. Mukesh had apparently crossed the barricade of the African lion enclosure despite repeated warnings by the security staff.
Nehru Zoological Park Curator Shivani Dogra said:
The lioness (Radhika) was inside the enclosure and had moved close to Mukesh but Papaiah diverted the lioness from him.
After preliminary enquiry it was found that Mukesh was in an inebriated state and had jumped inside the enclosure to go near the lion.
The wannabe lion-tamer was handed over to Bahadurpura Police and when contacted Police Station Inspector Harish Kaushik said he will be charged trespass under IPC.
Shivani Dogra added:
This kind of incident is creating fear among public, even after Nehru Zoological Park administration is trying its level best to make the zoo park a safe and secure place to visit.
This is just the latest in a string of incidents where members of the public have got into the enclosures of dangerous animals.
What is going on?!
