Nineties boy band lovers the world over rejoice! Some of your old favourites are coming back together to fight off a horde of flesh eating ghouls in a brand new film, and you thought the Boyzlife news was exciting.
The film, Dead7, is a zombie movie written and starring Nick Carter, best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys, and tells the story of a group of ex-boy band members who team up to fight off a zombie menace in the post-apocalyptic west.
Joining Nick are fellow Backstreet Boys, A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough, ‘N Sync’s own Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, 98 Degrees legend Jeff Timmons, and O-Town’s Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, and Dan Miller. Shockingly Justin Timberlake appears to have declined an appearance.
I’m not going to lie, the trailer looks like the usual hot mess we’ve come to expect from from the SyFy Channels original movies. And I’m not sure if it’s the 90s music reminding me of my youth but the film has a distinct Power Rangers feel about it. So obviously I’m super excited to see it.
It’s pretty obvious that the film makers were going for a ‘so good it’s bad’ vibe which is unsurprising since the film’s produced by The Asylum, the studio that brought us such gems as Transmorphers, Titanic 2 and of course their biggest franchise The Sharknado films.
Dead7 premiers in the U.S. on Aril 1 which makes me wonder if this could all be an elaborate prank…
