It’s the answer to the question you’ve always wanted to ask: “If you farted hard enough in space, could you move yourself around?”

A Reddit user posed that all-important question and, well, it turns out the answer is a resounding “yes”!

Ask Science panellist ‘VeryLittle’ responded on the thread and explained the maths and the science behind a fart powered jetpack.

There’s a lot of complex sums in there but, essentially, a good guff would propel an astronaut forward in space and methane gas can act as rocket fuel.

We wouldn’t recommend doing it while you were wearing a space suit with no air holes though.
