Kidulthood star Adam Deacon has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act after a court ruled that was the best course of action for the actor, who was originally slated to appear in court charged with affray and possession of a weapon.
After carrying around a machete style knife and threatening members of the public near Bethnal Green on January 6th, Deacon’s mental health has since declined to the level that he is now judged unfit to attend court.
A clerk commented on the case and claimed:
This case was adjourned, I believe, on the 6th March and if you look at the charge sheet, the charges concern allegations from January 6 of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
On the last occasion the defendant wasn’t in court and an adjournment period was agreed because the defendant was in hospital for treatment for underlying mental health issues.Advertisement
