Step Brothers 2 is one of those sequels that everyone wants to see, and Adam McKay has confirmed that plans are still in progress for it.
The screenwriter and director wants to get the ball rolling on the second instalment but admits that it could take a little while. McKay had originally intended for the sequel to be released before Anchorman 2. But when Paramount decided to go ahead and reassemble the Channel 4 news team, Step Brothers 2 was put on the back burner.
This now leaves Step Brothers 2 in an awkward place. McKay has expressed that he doesn’t want to be one of those directors that “runs out of ideas” and just puts out sequels. So it seems Step Brothers 2 may need a little more breathing space from the Anchorman sequel before seeing light of day.
But what we do know is that Mckay, Ferrel and John C Reilly all want to do it. So we just have to be patient.
