Amazon have quietly changed the way they pay tax, finally agreeing to book UK sales through their British branch, meaning that the diverted profits tax will be avoided and an increased amount of corporate tax will have to be paid in the UK.

Previously, Amazon funnelled the majority of their sales through Luxemburg, which allowed them to pay minimal tax through a low-tax agreement, but after an investigation by European regulators into this potentially giving Amazon an unfair advantage over their competitors, Amazon have confirmed they are now going to start paying tax in individual countries, with Germany, Italy, and Spain also making the list.
