Arsenal fans are trying hard not to get a nosebleed at the prospect of winning two trophies in two years, and one fan was so excited and desperate to be at the FA Cup final, he wrote to the Queen begging for tickets.
Now while that might not be the normal route of action for football fans when getting tickets, when the FA decide to give most of the tickets to corporate suits, desperate times and all that.
The dude probably didn’t expect to get a reply from Her Majesty, but he got one from her Senior Correspondent, which might not have produced tickets, but is still pretty epic.
Here is the letter in full:
The Queen has asked me to thank you for your letter of 5th May, telling Her Majesty how pleased you are that your favourite football team, Arsenal, are in the FA Cup Final which will be held at Wembley on 30th May.
Your request for The Queen to help you get tickets for yourself and your friend Leo Murphy has been carefully noted, however, I am afraid that this is not a matter with which Her Majesty would be able to assist you.
I am sorry to send you a disappointing reply. Nevertheless, The Queen hopes you will enjoy the football match and I am to convey Her Majesty’s warm good wishes to you and to your friend Leo for the future.
Amazing stuff, and in case the poor dude hasn’t realised it and still hasn’t managed to find tickets, he can always try the pub.
