FIFA and France Football have officially announced their 23-man shortlist for the 2014 Ballon d’Or.
“The list of 23 male candidates has been drawn up by football experts from the FIFA Football Committee and by a group of experts from France Football.” said a FIFA spokesman.
On December 1, 2014, the 23 man shortlist will be whittled down to just three names.
Two of which will undoubtedly be Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The third? Our guess is Hazard, but it’s anyones guess.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are tied for the most players on the shortlist with six each while Barca have four and Chelsea have three but as far as countries goes, Germany dominates with six countrymen.
We’re also assuming that if Luis Suarez was less bitey in the World Cup, he’d of made the list…
