In a scene reminiscent of hit TV show Breaking Bad, a man has been caught allegedly cooking methamphetamine in his apartment at a retirement community in California.

Robert Short, 64, was found with four ounces of crystal meth, as well as plastic bags and an electronic scale in a routine police car search.

Officers then searched his flat where they found a functioning crystal meth lab.

Half a pound of crystal meth with a street value of £1,000 was also discovered as well as a quantity of heroin.

It emerged that Stone was on parole for previously selling the same drug.

‘When the officers searched the car they located four ounces of methamphetamine in the car, which is a lot of methamphetamine, so that’s consistent with somebody who’s selling,’ Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez told ABC 30 Action News.

‘Just shocking someone that age would do that, but actually a perfect place to do it, right? Retirement village, who would suspect it going on there?’
