Facebook has just introduced a new feature that basically allows you to choose the person who will take over your account if you die. Grim, but kind of cool.
What the ‘Legacy Contact’ will pretty much do, is put pressure on the shoulders of a loved one to make sure your social profile is kept intact upon your demise. And I just can’t work out if that’s a good thing or not.
I suppose it says everything about the modern world we live in, and with that said, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be used A LOT.
If I’m honest, I’d probably leave mine to a mate, or failing that, a complete randomer who I’ve never spoken to just to cause some hilarious awkwardness.
But it would probably be a good idea to leave it in the hands of a close family member.
It’s currently not available in the UK, but it will be here very soon…
