Protein World hit the headlines this week for their ‘controversial’ beach body adverts that were put up around London.
The general consensus among complainers was that the images used in the adverts were ‘too perfect’ and that they put pressure on people to look good. They have a point (kind of), but I’m not sure the uproar was needed. Adverts like these have been shoved in our faces since the dawn of time. It was nothing new.
But in the world of social media, situations like this can escalate. And escalate it did. However, there was one response that we enjoyed the most. And we expected nothing less from the company who went there.

Because, Carlsberg definitely went there.
They decided to erect a poster right next to one of Protein World’s in a tube station in London, and it didn’t take long for it to hit twitter.
The poster brilliantly asks, “Are you beer body ready?”, and mirrors the more controversial poster directly next to it. And with all that said, Carlsberg DO campaign trashing, and it’s probably some of the best campaign trashing in the world…
