A team of Chinese bin men came to the aid of a pensioner whose life savings had been accidentally thrown away.
Kang Yao, 67, from Shanghai, found out his cleaner had disposed of his £500 after mistaking it for trash and thought he would never see it again.
But thanks to six bin men LADs, his hard earned money was finally discovered, after two hours of thorough search.
A spokesman for the council’s refuse collection department, Tain Chen, said the workers sprang into action after they were notified of the missing bag.
‘They stopped immediately and emptied all of the rubbish out onto the street, and then spent close to two hours sorting through it all until they found the bag with the cash inside,’ he said.
‘They then called in to say that they had the money and it was collected later by the man’s son.’
