A Christmas card from Clintons has been pulled after just one day on sale for ‘being offensive to people who live on council estates’.
The card, entitled ’10 reasons why Santa Claus must live on a council estate’, was widely blasted on social media after going on sale and was quickly taken off the shelves as the backlash escalated.
You can see the 10 reasons below.
A spokesman for Clintons said the card had been ‘immediately withdrawn’ and it was a ‘mistake’ that it had ever been released for general sale.
“We are investigating how this offensive card got through our quality control procedures, which we will review and tighten as a result of this incident.”
