Conor McGregor will never shy away from trash talk, but he probably should have saved this latest outburst until after his fight with Jose Aldo.
McGregor will headline with Aldo at the MGM Grand in July when he challenges for the 145-pound world title – but he didn’t save any breath when calling Mayweather ‘a rookie’.
Speaking about if he fought him, he said, “I would kill him. I don’t look at a man who’s expert in one area as a specialist. I look at him as a rookie in ten other areas.”
Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao on May 2 at the same arena as the McGregor/Aldo in the heart of fight capital Las Vegas.
The welterweight unification fight with Pacquiao will earn Mayweather around £81m ($120m) while the Filipino will pocket in the region of £54m ($80m).
The fight will see Floyd pocket around £81m with Manny taking a cool £54m. I’m not sure either of them care about trash talking MMA fighters right now.
