A first-time dad was forced to make the choice between keeping his wife or abandoning his newborn baby. Why? Because his newborn son had down’s syndrome and his wife was too ashamed to keep him.
Obviously, proud father Samuel Forrest had absolutely no intentions of abandoning his son, Leo, who he described as “beautiful” and “perfect”.
Samuel’s wife, Ruzan, who is an Armenian, refused to attach herself to their little lad when he was born and even refused to touch him. And when prompted with the choice of abandoning him, she accepted.
In Armenia, doctors will present you with this choice, and tell you that you don’t have to keep them. Shocking.
However, with Samuel being from New Zealand, his views are very different, and he didn’t hesitate when it came down to choosing who he was going to devote his life too.
Speaking to ABC News, he said:
They took me in to see him and I looked at this guy and I said, he’s beautiful, he’s perfect and I’m absolutely keeping him.
What happens when a baby like this is born here, they will tell you that you don’t have to keep themAdvertisement
My wife had already decided, so all of this was done behind my back.
And thanks to a Kickstarter, Samuel and Leo have now raised enough money to move back to New Zealand together and even pay for Leo’s special education needs.
