Delays on the M74 motorway were in full effect this morning “due to a dog taking control of a tractor”. No, we’re not joking.
The bizarre incident was reported on Twitter by Traffic Scotland and pretty much went viral straight away – for obvious reasons.
The reports flooded in after a sheepdog called Don (owned by a local farmer) was spotted at the wheel of a tractor at junction 13 of the M74 near Abington in South Lanarkshire.

It was later reported that he had leaned on the controls, taking it from a field onto the busy carraigeway. Luckily, nobody was hurt, including Don, and the police managed to recover the tractor from the central reservation pretty quickly.
Furthermore, Don will recieve no points on his license. Because he’s a dog. And he doesn’t have one.
