NBC has fired Donald Trump following statements in which he called Mexican immigrants rapists and drug runners.
Trump, the international business mogul with the bad hairpiece who is running for the Republican nomination for president (no, really), is no stranger to saying idiotic things but this time his big mouth has cost him his TV time.
In a statement, NBC said:
Due to recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its relationship with Mr. Trump.
NBC confirmed that it was dropping Trump’s Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants, and it also appears that ol’ Donald will no longer be the host of the U.S version of ‘The Apprentice’.
The network’s decision was made after Trump failed to distance himself from the outrageous comments made about Mexican immigrants during his presidential announcement speech.
In the speech, Trump said:
When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best; they’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Trump later responded to his release and claimed that he was the one who severed ties with NBC, because of course he did.
They didn’t want me to run because they wanted me to do ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’. They were not happy. I think as far as ending the relationship, I have to do that, because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC.
If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court. Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.
NBC isn’t the only network to dump Trump, Univision also severed ties with the 69-year-old calling his comments “insulting”.
So another good week for Donald then. Just imagine if this guy actually got into the White House. Be afraid. Be very afraid…
