Princess Diana was one of the most famous faces in the world before her untimely death, and it seems that being such a high profile figure certainly brought her some unwanted attention – from none other than Donald Trump.
According to a friend of the late Princess, she was sent flowers by Trump on more than one occasion, with the Republican presidential candidate seeing her as the ‘ultimate trophy wife’, something Diana found ‘creepy’.
Apparently, the then newly-divorced royal felt as though the constant bombardment by Trump amounted to him stalking her, and became unhappy – not to mention uncomfortable – with the attention.
Diana’s friend, Selina Scott, and wrote in the Sunday Times:
It had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her.
I know this because she told me.
A spokesperson for Trump claimed they were friends, and ‘liked each other a lot’, but nothing ever came of it.
