One guy must have thought he was pretty hot shit when he hired a £210,000 Ferrari for his wedding. Unfortunately for him, he got slightly carried away with his new rental and crashed it into a house.
Thankfully, nobody was injured when the overzealous driver smashed into a terraced house in Luton on Sunday and ended up underneath a taxi.
The unnamed 29-year-old rented the supercar from luxury car hire firm Prestige Lifestyle in Shoreham-by-Sea on Thursday, telling staff it was for a wedding. But, just a day before he was scheduled to return the £850-per-day vehicle, he ploughed the 202mph supercar into a house. As you do.
To the surprise of nobody, this guy won’t be getting his £5,000 deposit back. Insurers took three minutes to write off the car and, to be honest, looking at the photos of the carnage this bloke caused, we’re surprised it even took them that long!
Co-owner Jamie Ford, 26, from Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, said:
When I saw what had happened I was absolutely devastated. They have done a really good job of crashing it and writing it off. I just wish people had more respect for super cars. People need to realise that they are not invincible. We can deal with scratches and little dents, but this is absolutely gutting.
Bedfordshire Police say they have not made any arrests after the crash, but this guy will have to live in the knowledge that he is a bit of a moron.
