Chris Brown has been told that gaining entry to Australia is unlikely, after his visa application looked like being denied due to his past issues with domestic violence.
The singer had a well publicised fight with Rihanna, that left the female singer – who was his girlfriend at the time – battered and brused.
Brown has several concerts scheduled in December, and may be forced to cancel them, after receiving word the government would use the ‘Migration Act’ to deny him entry to the country.
The Migration Act allows the government to ban people from entering Australia if they have serious criminal convictions, which Brown does after pleading guilty to felony assault.
Minister For Women Michaelia Cash claimed:
People need to understand, if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world there are going to be countries that say to you ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character that we expect in Australia’.
