I don’t know about you, but if I’d just managed to land myself a home worth $1.3 million (£825,000), you wouldn’t be getting me out of there any time soon.
But that’s not the case for the Broaddus family, who are now trying their best to sell their expensive home after receiving a host of chilling anonymous letters from someone going by the name ‘The Watcher’.
The family, which includes three small children, had only been living in the home for three days before the first letter came through the door from the unknown entity claiming to be watching the place from, well, god knows where.
One of the letters read:
The house has been the subject of my family for decades. I have be [sic] put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched in the 1920s and my father watched it in the 1960s. It is now my time.
Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Have you found all the secrets it holds. Will the young bloods play in the basement. Who has the bedrooms facing the street? I will know as soon as you move in.
Have they found out what’s in the walls yet? I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me.Advertisement
Yeah, not sure what to make of that. Nothing cries “get the f*ck out of there” more than a vague but chilling letter from an anonymous source basically threatening your children’s entire existence.
