Transfer deadline day is one of the best, and worst, days on the football calendar. Your team could buy a great player, or sell your best striker and not replace them. You never quite know. But at least you get to laugh at the wollies hanging around the reporters.

Well, not anymore. As fans have now been completely banned from all on-camera Deadline Day activity. It’s a sad day.

I always think these people that go out there and stand around are total helmets. Shouting ‘Wheyyyyy’ and waving to their mum while they’re on the phone. But last year there were a couple of funny ones worth a shout. Most notably, the kid who stuck a dildo in a reporters ear, and the guy who had a blow up sex doll.

But Sky have now announced that they will no longer be allowing the public near the reporters. Which could be considered a shame, as things were just starting recently starting to heat up.

Personally, I think the reporters should be banned from using the sentence ‘I’ve just heard from my reliable source’. So many times you hear that.. Their reliable source telling them that Lionel Messi was seen buying a Pot Noodle in Hull Tesco Express and is now on his way to the ground to sign a contract. And all that sort of bullshit.

Let’s just hope the reporters can keep it interesting for us…
