Crisp butties are well nice. And in Belfast, a new shop has opened, with the crisp sandwich being its speciality. Brilliant.

An overhaul of ‘The Wee Cafe’ in Belfast saw the creation of ‘Simply Crispy’, a pop up cafe which has over 35 different flavours of crisps.

The best part is, it was only a joke. On the Ulster Fry satirical, people joked about opening a crisp sarnie shop, but then Andrew McMenamin saw promise in the idea and gave his cafe a makeover.

It comes not long after the Cereal Killer Cafe opened in London, and has taken off really well. Customers choose the type of crisps, bread, and can add cheese or ham too if they like.

It is something from your childhood. I have not had a crisp sandwich since university and before that childhood so it is bringing back the nostalgia. It is a school thing, people remember it from their school days, it’s a classic and it’s old-school.

There is obviously a demand for it, as they completely sold out of crisps in the first two hours.

Anyway, I’m off to the kitchen…
