Two of the most prolific boxers on the planet were both sitting courtside for the Miami Heat game last night.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao were enjoying some basketball before creating somewhat of an unplanned half time show, when unbeaten champion Floyd crossed the court and approached Manny. Floyd, who is currently coming off the back of two straight wins over Marcos Maidana, appeared to ask for Manny’s number.

Pacquiao obliged. And I can’t help but hope the reason behind it was to arrange their own fight, or at least start talks. Manny has been after Floyd for a while and the pressure on Floyd’s shoulders to take it is getting heavier and heavier. It has to go down this year.

There’s no doubt that this fight will be the most watched in boxing history, and if they can get the finances agreed early on, I think plans could be put in place sooner than we think.

However the pair are currently coming off 8 decision wins in 10 fights, so they’re both going to need lengthy camps to get ready for each other.
