The big screen adaptation of DC Comic’s Suicide Squad is set to be one of the most anticipated films of the last few years, but according to DC insiders, Harley Quinn won’t be making a small screen appearance any time soon.
The character has already been seen for a couple of seconds in Arrow, one of the most successful small screen shows from the comic book world, but despite Arrow execs asking to give her a bigger role in the show, they were turned down.
Willa Holland, who of course stars as Thea Queen in Arrow even claimed:
We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down. I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to [have] Harley in Arrow but it will never happen.
So there you have it. Harley Quinn would’ve joined the Arrow universe but instead we’re getting a very scantily clad Margot Robbie on the big screen instead. I’d call that a win.
