Harry Potter fans of the world can rejoice as news has reached our ears that a new play centred around the boy wizard and his story will open next year.
The play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is the brainchild of JK Rowling, who has teamed up with writer Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany for the offering, which has been called perfect for the theatre.
The play opens in London in 2016, and the author made it clear that she had received many offers to expand the world of Harry Potter in the past, but had never been presented with the right offer until now.
I've had countless offers to extend Harry's story over the years, but Jack, John and Sonia Friedman are a dream team! #CursedChild

JK Rowling claimed:
It will tell a new story, which is the result of a collaboration between writer Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany and myself. It has been a huge pleasure to share with them (and soon, with you!) this untold part of Harry’s story.
To answer one inevitable (and reasonable!) question – why isn’t #CursedChild a new novel?
I am confident that when audiences see the play they will agree that it was the only proper medium for the story.
Tickets will go on sale next month, and the offering will have music, special effects and that will not be all for Potter fans, with Rowling writing the script for prequel film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at the minute.
