Over 250 whales were reportedly massacred on two beaches in the Faroe Islands this week and show just how backwards the human race is.
The slaughtering happened on beaches in both Bøur and Tórshavn as cowardly fishermen used harpoons and knives to hack the defenceless animals to death on the Danish-owned islands.
People stood around and took photos of hundreds of dead whale bodies that lay beached on the shore as their blood turned the water red around them.
The sobering scenes were captured by non-profit, marine wildlife conservation group, Sea Shepherd.
The documented footage shows innocent whales trying to escape as they are circled by multiple boats and forced towards shore, where they are then destroyed alongside their school.
The whales are violently dragged up the beach and hacked to death by dozens of wetsuit-clad locals equipped with machetes – who seem to treat the situation like an everyday activity and can be seen laughing and joking.
Unbelievably, five activists from Sea Shepard were arrested for protesting against the event. An event that happens every year, and goes back hundreds. Find out more about Sea Shepard’s cause here, and help spread awareness for this barbaric mess.
Tragic whale slaughter in Faroe Islands. It's good we've found a twin Earth because we're really fucking up this one. pic.twitter.com/ZUdP43SVCm
