More than 300 men from the University of Georgia recently took the challenge of literally walking a mile in someone else’s shoes – specifically women’s high heels!
The guys participated in the march to make a stand against rape, sexual assault and gender violence on campus.
As the event’s website explains, an estimated one in 5 women will be sexually assaulted while in college. At their uni alone in 2014 alone, 71 rapes were reported to campus police.
A statement on the website said:
The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes UGA event provides an opportunity for the campus community to join together and demonstrate solidarity for efforts to stop the violence, especially during this critical time period within the school year.
Ten fraternities participated in the event, along with many other campus organisations and community members, led by the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Student Group.
And, yes, the guys looked fabulous. Check out some of the best images from the event below…
This is awesome! Good on these lads for speaking out against sexual assault.
