A 91-year-old Italian grandfather has finally completed middle school, the Chieti Today website reports.
Nicola Torello attended school every day from 17:00 in order to prepare for his finals and ended up receiving full marks in his maths and English speaking exams.
After serving as a soldier during World War Two, something he wrote an essay about, Mr Torello spent the majority of his long life working as a tailor.
Nicola has four children and six grandchildren, who all joined him at the school in Chieti, southern Italy, in order to celebrate his achievement. And reports say that even the city’s mayor turned up to congratulate him.
The determined man who now wants to “get to grips with technology” is planning to continue on through secondary school, and we wish him the best of luck!
