Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed a new set of abs for his upcoming movie Southpaw, in which he plays a boxer whose life unravels in front of him.
The 34-year-old trained six hours every day, completing 2,000 sit ups a day, just to achieve the right body for the challenging role. And the gains are pretty dramatic!
It’s a far cry from his usual weight, adding an extra 15lbs of muscle for the project. He plays a retired boxer who loses custody of his daughter when his wife dies, and has to get back in the ring in a bid to win her back.
The film hits cinemas on July 24 in the UK, and we think it might just be one of his best performances yet.
