Kanye West Hits Out At Celebrity Culture – “‘90% Of Famous People Will Only Use Their Voice To Make Money”

If there was ever an example that should accompany the definition of the saying ‘the pot calling the kettle black’ – This would be it.

Ahead of his controversial headlining of Glastonbury this weekend, Kanye West did an interview with Q magazine, in which he slammed celebrity culture.

Without a hint of irony, the guy who married a Kardashian spoke about how celebrities don’t use their influence for any good, and are only interested in making money.

He said:

I just think there’s a lot of celebrities that are completely controlled by their finances. You could literally tap them on the wrist and say they lost five dollars and they’ll fall to the floor and beg for at least four of the dollars back.

So when people expect a celebrity to do or say anything you’re talking to the wrong group of people.

He does make a point, because he say’s that celebrities could use their position to raise awareness of important issues, but instead they only market themselves. It’s just, you know… Exactly what him and his wife do.

They won’t use their voice for the people. They’ll only use their voice for money.

Print it as loud, as fucking loud, as you want to. Print it. And I don’t care what parties I don’t get invited to afterwards. 90% of celebrities only use their voice for the purpose of making money for themselves.

I’ll address politics however it needs to be addressed, because the world is broken. Somebody’s got to be crazy enough to put themselves and their well-being on the line for truth. Somebody’s gotta do it.

As it’s coming from one of the most egotistical people on the planet, that will often speak about himself in third person as some sort of deity, that is married to a member of one of the most attention-hungry families in the world, I can’t be the only person wondering quite why Yeezy hasn’t used his power for good yet?

But then, he did once say:

You should only believe about 90 percent of what I say. As a matter of fact, don’t even believe anything that I’m saying at all. I could be completely fucking with you, and the world, the entire time.

So who knows what he is on about?!
