A Kenyan lawyer has offered Barack Obama a farmyard’s worth of animals for the U.S President’s daughter’s hand in marriage.
Speaking to The Nairobian, Felix Kiprono said his dream is to marry Obama’s daughter, Malia.
The youngster is so enthusiastic about it that he’s even prepared to meet with Obama to discuss the matter directly when he visits Kenya in July.
I got interested in her in 2008. As a matter of fact, I haven’t dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her. I have shared this with my family and they are willing to help me raise the bride price.
That price apparently equates to 50 cows, 70 sheep and 30 goats, although quite what the most powerful man in the world would do with all that livestock, we’re not exactly sure.
Still, Kiprono is clear that his love for 16-year-old Malia is real and not simply infatuation. The lad’s interest seems to stem from his claims that Malia has Kenyan blood because of her father Barack’s African roots.
Kiprono added that he has no interest in the family’s money, explaining:
People might say I am after the family’s money, which is not the case. My love is real. I am currently drafting a letter to Obama asking him to please have Malia accompany him for this trip. I hope the embassy will pass the letter to him. I will hand it over to the U.S Ambassador with whom we have interacted several times.
Kiprono added that if Malia agrees to be his wife, “Ours would be a simple life”, so he’ll have to hope that she’s sick of all the luxuries that come with being the president’s daughter.
We’re really not convinced about this guy’s chances but all the best to him.
