Man Accidentally Shoots Mother In Law After Bullet Bounces Off Armadillo armadillo 31

Shooting your mother-in-law is never going to go down well, but at least this guy kind of has an excuse.

Police say 54-year-old Larry McElroy fired his 9mm pistol at the animal in Lee County, Georgia, before the bullet ricocheted off its armour, hit a fence then smashed through the back door hitting her in the back.

Unfortunately, the poor animal died in the process, but his mother-in-law is set to make a full recovery.

WALB-TV reported the bizarre incident:

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies said 54-year-old Larry McElroy was outside when he fired his 9 mm pistol at the armadillo.

The bullet killed the animal, but also ricocheted off of it, hit a fence, went through the back door of his mother-in-law’s mobile home, through a recliner she was sitting in, and into her back.
