There has been an increasing drive to raise awareness when it comes to mental health conditions recently, and rightly so, but according to Casey Cahill from Kentucky, people still don’t really understand what a panic attack is and what it can do.

That is why the 27-year-old decided to film himself having a full blown attack and put it on YouTube for everyone to see, so they could fully understand how bad it can get.

I just wanted to make this video to show to myself that this is what it’s like when you don’t try to help yourself – when you think you can do it on your own.

It is harrowing to watch and really does show how bad something like a panic attack can become – and how debilitating they are. Given Mr Cahill claimed that there were no other videos on YouTube showing a panic attack to this degree, we hope it helps to spur people on when it comes to posting their own, and in turn exposing the world to how serious that can actually be.
