This sorry excuse for a man is 32-year-old Liam O’Brien, who posed as a British soldier in order to steal Help for Heroes donations.

The scumbag would wait outside public places with a donation bucket and would sometimes make up to £500 a day in donations from people who believed he was a genuine army veteran.

However after he finished his shift every day, he would then pocket the money for himself.

O’Brien has no military links whatsoever, but would claim that he’d been given permission to collect for the charity because he was a ‘serving sergeant in the special forces’.

However he was finally caught when trying to board a train in Bath with a fake military free travel pass.

A search of his home found multiple false ID’s in different names and a list of credit card details from a hotel he once worked at.

He has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison after admitting 12 counts of fraud.
