It has been revealed that the future of McDonald’s will be the ability to create your own burger via a touchscreen.
‘Create Your Taste’ lets customers skip the counter and head to tablet-like kiosks where they can customise everything about their burger, from the type of bun to the variety of cheese to the many different toppings and sauces.
The system is currently being rolled out to 2000 stores in the US, and if it’s a success, will most likely make its way to Europe.
Not only is McDonald’s preparing to spread the new system widely, but it’s also fully adding Chicken to the menu, which gives the chain an edge over places like KFC who don’t have this system.
Obviously, ‘fast food’ is supposed to be FAST food, but if you don’t mind standing at a touchscreen and carefully customising your own burger, then you’re going to love this.
Analysts have noted the growing demand for customised orders, particularly among people in their 20s and 30s and they have also noted that people are showing greater concern for the ingredients in their food. This will put you in control.
But with the chain having over 35,000 locations in more than 100 countries, don’t expect to see it in Europe in the next few years.
