Alan Barnes proudly showed off his brand new house this week after the overwhelming support he recently received from the British public.

After £300,000 worth of donations, the mugging victim looks delighted with his brand new home in Low Fell – while his attacker, Richard Gatiss, has just been sent to jail for four years.

Barnes described the fundraising efforts of the UK as a “fairytale” and revealed his injuries are finally 100% healed. Beautician Katie Cutler set up the appeal after hearing about the attack which has allowed Alan to spend £150,000 on a brand new home. Cushy!

Hopefully the pensioner will feel a lot more secure in his new abode, after being mugged outside his previous one.
