A summer beach body is something everyone wants, and according to new research, instead of putting down the chocolate and getting your ass to spin class, there is a far more enjoyable way to burn those calories and shed pounds.

Music festivals are apparently a great way to make sure you are getting plenty of exercise, walking or staggering (depending on what drink and or drugs you’ve taken) to the stage, and that of course leads to calories being burnt up.

Tech company Withings seem to think that on average, a festival goer will walk 15 miles a day and burn 9,000 calories, which seems like a huge amount, but when you factor in all the moving about to various stages, the toilet and the tent, you can see how it adds up.

Of course, the reason no one comes home from a festival and thinks they’ve lost weight is probably down to all the overpriced food and copious alcoholic beverages they consume while they are there.
