Former U.S President George W Bush is a bigger historical villain than Joseph Stalin or Genghis Khan.
That’s according to a new poll anyway.
Bush Jr, who was the head honcho of the United States between 2001 and 2009, is considered a nicer bloke than Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden though, so he’s got that going for him.
The new global study called on the opinions of almost 7,000 students from 37 countries including Argentina, Pakistan, South Korea, Italy, and the U.S.
The students, who had an average age of 23, were asked to give their opinions on 40 figures and significant events throughout world history.
The results gave us the top ten heroes and villains from world history, which threw up some interesting results, like Bush sitting comfortably among the most infamous murderous dictators as one of the most evil men to have ever lived.
The authors suggested that “the impact of time” explains the strange results.
Then again, Bush is the guy who said, “If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator” so maybe these students weren’t so wrong after all…
