£25 million for two months work sounds like a pretty good deal to us, and that is exactly what Helge Lund is about to get after Shell moved increasingly closer to taking over the company he currently works for.

The takeover of BG Group would put Lund out of a job, meaning he would receive a compensation package in addition to the golden hello of £10.6million, a £1.5million salary and a £485,000 relocation allowance when he agreed to take the job back in February.

Helge Lund is apparently an Arsenal fan, citing their ‘fantastic 1971 season’ as the reason for this and puts his business success down to ‘avoiding complacency, and ‘always being curious’, claiming that the best businessmen are like the best athletes ‘curious and willing to learn from others’.

Well, if Lund wants to take a trip to meet us and share his secrets to success, we would be more than willing to learn from the man dubbed Mr Oil, given he is making more in a couple of months than most people would even dream of making in ten lifetimes – and hasn’t really done too much to justify it either!
