Meet Shaun Gash, a man thrown through the back window of a car during a crash when he was 20 that left him paralysed from the chest down.
Now, 24 years later, he’s completing gruelling obstacle courses that even get the better of able-bodied people. This man epitomises hard work and determination.
The Lancaster man was helped along the 10km course by his wife Dawn and a group of friends. Along the way, they tackled muddy trenches, steep fences and barbed wire crawls.
Speaking of his accomplishment, Shaun said:
It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. I was knackered by the end.Advertisement
I’d cheered Dawn on the year before and really fancied the look of it. It took more than a year to find a course that could accept me in the wheelchair.
Fortunately, Born Survivor did and I set about training. I really caught obstacle courses for them and did another later in 2014.
However, Born Survivor isn’t enough for the determined husband. He’s planning on doing the Great North Run and trying his hand at white water rafting.
And all that will be BEFORE he attempts to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2016.
What a guy!
