It’s finally happened. Powered alcohol that you can pour into a bottle of water is now legal, and it’s going to be everywhere.
Last year it was reported that the product and the company that created it had been given approval for it by the US government. Meaning the creation and selling of it will be legal.
Now, The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau have approved it which means it has a major green light, and it won’t be long till we can add the powdered substance to, well, pretty much anything. You will be able to make most foods alcoholic. Although that does sound pretty vile.
This is how the Palcohol website describes their product:
Imagine a Margarita on a counter. And then imagine if you could snap your fingers and it would turn into powder. That’s Palcohol….without the magic. Palcohol is just a powder version of vodka, rum and three cocktails….with the same alcoholic content.
Authorities aren’t too happy at the idea that it may be used to sneak alcoholic water into the cinema or on a subway – or festivals where it costs you half a mortgage for a pint.
But that’s something they’ll have to tackle head on, as it’s soon going to be everywhere.
