Weed users listen up. The golden oldies were not kidding when they joked that today’s pot is far stronger than the stuff they used to smoke back in the day – it seems they were telling the truth with one scientist actually proving it.
Dr. Andy LaFrate and his team studied over 600 different samples of recreational Marijuana in Colorado and came to the conclusion that they were in fact at least three times stronger than weed in decades gone by after they also tested samples from the 1980s.
According to the research at the Charas Scientific research lab, the samples way back when contained less than 10% of THC or tetrahydrocannabinol as you may know it, which in layman’s terms is the ingredient that actually gets you high. Todays samples contained anything from 18.7% to a whopping 30%.
The downside to this is the lessening quantity of CBD or cannabidiol, which is actually the ingredient that stops users from feeling pain and the part that actually helps sufferers of things like schizophrenia.
That news has us tripping.
