Vladimir Putin has created a theme park with a twist – because the Russian president never does things by halves, and the military style park outside of Moscow has just about everything you would expect Putin’s dreams to have in them.
Guns and tanks feature heavily in the so called ‘family friendly’ park, and on the same day Putin showed off Patriot Park, he also declared that Russia were adding 40 new intercontinental missiles to their arsenal. Because that’s not worrying at all.
The park will allow kids to fire grenade launchers and climb over tanks, and worryingly, Putin claimed that it was vital for their development, and will allow them to fully understand Russia and their position in the world, claiming it is ‘an important element in our system of military-patriotic work with young people’.
Oh, and it’s gun friendly. Of course.
Alexander ‘The Surgeon’ Zaldostanov, the leader of the pro-Putin biker group the Night Wolves claimed:
When I look at all this stuff it makes me feel proud of Russia and realise that we have something to answer the Americans with. They wouldn’t dare to press the button.
In Soviet times the army was a distant, faraway thing, but now we all feel closer to the army. The army is being romanticised and I see that as a good thing. If we don’t educate our own children then America will do it for us… like we have seen in Ukraine.
