Only in America would they make a show where a man has eight minutes to convince prostitutes to quit being prostitutes.
The show, 8 Minutes (working title) has been given the green light by A&E, the same company that produced Dog the Bounty Hunter and Storage Wars. Now we all know that American reality TV shows don’t contain a lot of reality. Even things like Jerry Springer are very set up and scripted. But this one will apparently include a some reality.
Executive producer Tom Forman said: “This is one of those great shows that was actually happening whether anybody was shooting it or not.”
What he means is that the man who will be trying to convince hookers to find a new career was already doing it. Cop-turned-pastor Kevin Brown from Orange County was already trying to help prostitutes since he committed to his church after retiring from the police force.
Only now he’s going to be on camera and will be given just eight minutes to try and convince them. Yeah, because that’s going to make it easier.
