Legendary Hollywood actor Sir Christopher Lee has passed away at the age of 93 leaving fans around the world to mourn the loss of one of the most iconic film villains of all time.
The master of the macabre, who was the only member of the Lord of the Ring’s cast to personally know JRR Tolkien, had a career that spanned over 60 years. His prowess for being the bad guy saw him cast in an array of films that have since grossed more than $8.3 billion worldwide – making him one of the most successful actors ever.
He became famous for his roles in the Hammer Horror films which included Dracula and Frankenstein, The Wicker Man, The Mummy, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and many more – each time carving out an extremely memorable and unique character.
Christopher died at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 7 June due to respiratory problems and heart failure – shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday in hospital.
