The future of warfare is here, with this robotank that could soon be leading the US army into battle.

This tank is one of the most technologically advanced ever, and can be driven by remote from up to a kilometre away. ‘Ripsaw’ can reload itself and change weapons, all via a controller.

The vehicle is still currently under development, but has had it’s potential tested out.

A M113 Armored Personnel Carrier follows the Ripsaw, being driven by a soldier, while another soldier mans the drone’s controls. This means that it can be sent into highly dangerous areas first, without putting any soldiers lives at risk.

It is a reworking of an already existing vehicle made by Howe and Howe Technologies, because it had remote driving capabilities. ‘Popular Science Magazine’ named the Ripsaw their invention of the year in 2009 – So it has been a long time coming. It has now been converted for army use.
