Chuck Palahniuk has announced that he will be breaking one of the rules of Fight Club, by bringing out NEW Fight club material.
Fight Club 2 will be spread out over a 10 issue comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics with the first issue scheduled for release on April 8, 2015.
The plot has been described as follows:
Fight Club 2 takes place alternately in the future and the past. It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9 year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him.
The project is well underway and Palahniuk is more forthcoming. The series is simply titled Fight Club 2. Palahniuk will script the comic himself, with Cameron Stewart providing the interior artwork and David Mack handling covers.
Palahniuk will be attending a Fight Club panel at SDCC this Saturday along with Fight Club movie director David Fincher.
We expect the author will have more to say about Fight Club 2 then. Maybe Fincher will even offer his thoughts on a potential movie sequel.
We f*cking hope so.
