An Australian couple probably thought they were still dreaming when they woke up in the middle of the night and found a naked stranger asleep in their bed with them.
The couple – named only as Katie and Chris – found the 25-year-old Irish intruder in their Sydney home at around 1.45am on Monday.
Understandably, Chris challenged the man who picked up his clothes and tried to flee the house, but the couple were able to trap him in until the police arrived.
He then began convulsing and police called for an ambulance under the assumption the man was under the influence of drugs.
The couple said the man climbed into the house through a window left open for the cat but he “wasn’t completely with it”.
Speaking to Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, Katie said:
It was terrifying. Chris is on one side, I’m in the middle and then our stranger on the end right in with us. So just the sense of someone next to me who shouldn’t be there.
And, perhaps most worrying of all, she said she had no idea how long the stranger had been in the bed with them.
That’s kind of the scary part, how long he might have looking at us thinking it’s a good idea to get into bed with these guys. He was asleep, I could feel heat.
The man is now undergoing medical checks at a hospital and will then be interviewed by police over aggravated break and enter charges. Talk about a bad trip!
