When most of us see a famous person, we either freeze in shock or go a little bit crazy in our attempts to get a picture with them – and when State Trooper Billy Spears saw Snoop Dogg, he did just that.
The trooper, who works for the Texas Police Department of Public Safety, asked Snoop for a picture, which ended up on Instagram. Be he soon found himself in big trouble for it.
Spears now has to undergo mandatory counselling after taking a picture with ‘a public figure who has a well-known criminal background,’ in what seems to be a case of political correctness gone absolutely mad.
A DPS spokesperson claimed:
DPS does not typically discuss or release specifics of personnel issues unless they result in disciplinary action as outlined in Government Code 411.00755 and 411.0072.
Supervisors counsel and coach employees on a regular basis, and these efforts do not constitute formal discipline by the departmentAdvertisement
Despite being forced to accept the sanctions, Spears has taken legal representation from Ty Clevenger – who seems to think that the action is not policy and being ‘made up’ as the DPS go along.
We hope it goes well for him.
